History of Bike Week

Daytona Bike Week, established in 1937, is one of the largest and most iconic motorcycle events in the United States. It was originally a gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts who participated in racing events at Daytona Beach. The event's roots trace back to the formation of the Daytona 200, a prestigious motorcycle race, which quickly became a staple of the week’s festivities. Over the decades, Daytona Bike Week grew exponentially, attracting riders from all over the world for a mix of racing, bike shows, concerts, and scenic rides along the coast. The event became a cultural landmark, symbolizing the freedom and camaraderie of motorcycling, while also expanding to include vendors, custom bike builders, and a range of entertainment. Today, Daytona Bike Week spans over 10 days and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, making it a must-attend celebration for motorcyclists of all kinds.

800 Main Street

800 Main Street in Daytona Beach, Florida, is home to a historic building that has played a significant role in the city's rich cultural and social landscape.  Originally built in the early 20th century, the building was home to the East Coast Bank and trust co. and then later used by the US treasury.  Since then the building has seen various iterations and functions over the years.  One of the most notable chapters in its history was when it became the home of the popular Froggy's Saloon, a favorite spot for both locals and out-of-town visitors.   The building's long history reflects Daytona's transformation into a major cultural and tourist destination while maintaining a strong connection to its roots in motorsport and beach culture.
